Staying Connected

The Townes-Williams Family Foundation, Inc. was established to curate the heritage of the Townes-Williams family and help family members thrive.  It organizes the Townes-Williams Family Reunion (formerly referred to as the Williams-Townes Family Reunion), which is a biennial gathering of the descendants and relatives of Robbie L. Williams Townes and Augustus Townes, Sr. and family friends.  The reunion is held in a different city every two years and provides a regular opportunity for family and friends to reunite, reconnect, and remember our heritage.

Celebrating Success

Our family has made great strides.  Gus Townes, Sr., the family patriarch, was the grandson of slaves and is believed to have only had the equivalent of a 3rd grade education.  His descendants have earned graduate degrees, become highly paid professionals, operated successful businesses, purchased land, ​and held state level elected offices.  Our family has much to celebrate.  And we can accomplish so much more if we support one another.

​It's important for our family to come together periodically.  The biennial family reunion gives family members and friends a chance to reconnect with each other and strengthen familial bonds.  It also gives us the unique opportunity to collectively remember our heritage which nourishes our souls and renews our hope for the future.

2022 Family Reunion

Due to lower than expected participation, the Planning Committee has decided to cancel the 2022 Townes-Williams Family Reunion.  If you have already registered and would like a refund of your reunion registration fees, please send an email to [email protected] no later than July 31, 2022.  Otherwise, we will apply your 2022 reunion registration fees to your registration for the next scheduled family reunion.
Hotel
The hotels chosen for the 2022 Reunion are the Homewood Suites by Hilton and  the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Stafford NW Sugarland.  Hotel rooms are limited.  Reserve your hotel room early to ensure the best pricing.  Details are available on the reunion registration page.
